Delta Dental of Arizona Earns Healthy Arizona Worksites Program Platinum Award; Honor Marks 10th Consecutive Year Organization is Recognized for Health Initiatives 

PHOENIX, Ariz. (May 15, 2026) — For the 10th consecutive year, Delta Dental of Arizona has earned the Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP) Award for its implementation of evidence-based health initiatives to improve the well-being of their employees, employees’ families, and communities. In addition, for the fourth consecutive year, Delta Dental will be honored with the HAWP Platinum Award. The Platinum Award – the highest level of recognition – is presented to businesses making an impact both within and beyond their walls addressing one or more of the many health challenges impacting communities across the state. Platinum level awardees have demonstrated data driven programming and are leveraging cross-sector collaborations or partnerships improving the health, well-being, and equity of their community. All 2026 HAWP recipients will be honored on June 18 during the Healthy Arizona Worksite Annual Awards at Venue 8600 in Scottsdale.

HAWP, a public health initiative developed through a partnership between the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health, works to create linkages between Arizona businesses engaging in healthy worksite efforts so they can learn from each other and share experiences.

In recent weeks, the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation awarded more than $830,000 in grants to nonprofits advancing oral health and nutrition initiatives statewide.

They have also partnered with Arizona State University to launch SMILE-AI at the ASU John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering. The initiative was made possible through a $578,947 investment by the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation. The initiative will embed oral health education into medical school training and is expected to launch in the 2026-2027 academic year, which commences in August. Upon completion of the program, it is estimated that Shufeldt School graduates will positively impact up to 72,000 patients per class, per year.
