Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation Donates $100,000 to Arizona Food Bank Network

Funds to Benefit SNAP Participants Statewide

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Dec 16, 2025) — The Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation is pleased to announce the contribution of $100,000 to the Arizona Food Bank Network, which includes Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, Honor Health Desert Mission Food Bank, St. Mary's Food Bank, United Food Bank and the Yuma Community Food Bank, as well as partners statewide. The donation will be used to support the highest-need food distribution centers, specially focused on direct giving to centers with a high percentage of individuals and households that receive food assistance through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

"One in seven Arizonans struggles with hunger," said April Bradham,  president and chief executive officer of the Arizona Food Bank Network. “Through our coalition of five food banks, four of which are regional warehouses, and the more than 1,000 food pantries and agencies they serve, we are working together to address hunger in Arizona. This donation will help us in our mission to feed more than 700,000 food insecure people in all 15 counties in Arizona who come to food banks each month for help."

Among Delta Dental of Arizona’s funding guidelines is a dedicated focus on providing support to food insecure Arizonans. While this is typically done through the organization’s annual grant program, when SNAP funding was paused amid the government shutdown causing workers at military bases and vulnerable populations across the state to need food bank support, Delta Dental of Arizona saw resources at food distribution centers and food banks stretched past their limits.

"Without the means to purchase healthy foods, many Arizona families are faced with tough choices about how to access the nutritious foods they need to stay healthy. The consequences are bleak," said Michael Jones, president and chief executive officer of Delta Dental of Arizona and chair of the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation. “Delta Dental of Arizona is deeply committed to improving the health and well-being of communities across the state—not only through affordable dental and vision benefits, but also through strategic, community-driven philanthropy like this. Through this donation, Delta Dental of Arizona is creating a path to better health and wellness.”

This donation is one of the many ways in which Delta Dental of Arizona is working to support the oral and overall health of communities across the state. Delta Dental of Arizona, through its Foundation, leads several long-term initiatives aimed at education and access to health and wellness across Arizona. This includes an annual grant program, partnership with Arizona PBS to educate children on oral health, the Delta Dental of Arizona Oral Health Clinic at St. Vincent de Paul, critical work with Phoenix Children’s, the Banner Health Foundation Hospital Oral Care and Periodontal Disease Education (HOPE) program, an annual partnership with the Children’s Museum of Phoenix on museum-wide programming, and University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix Oral Health In Medicine Initiative.

Since 2010, Delta Dental of Arizona has invested $20 million-plus in initiatives that promote oral health education, disease prevention, and food security. The organization also created a free directory of low-cost dental clinics across Arizona, tailored for uninsured and underinsured. In addition, Delta Dental of Arizona employees volunteer, on average, over 1,000 hours collectively per year.
