Sandi Perez of Delta Dental of Arizona elected as chair of the board of directors for Arizona Grantmakers Forum
GLENDALE, Ariz. (Jan. 15, 2015) - Sandi Perez, Ph.D., vice president of communications and community benefit for Delta Dental of Arizona, was recently elected chair of the board of directors for the Arizona Grantmakers Forum. The Arizona Grantmakers Forum is a membership association which brings funders together and provides them with educational resources to increase, enhance and improve philanthropy in Arizona. Dr. Perez has served previous board positions as treasurer and vice chair.
“I couldn’t be more excited to start off 2015 with this incredible honor,” said Dr. Perez. “I’ve been a part of the Arizona Grantmakers Forum for several years and I am proud of what has been accomplished and thrilled to lead the team to fulfill this year’s goals.”
As chair, Dr. Perez will oversee the goal of improving philanthropy by expanding the philanthropic community, working collaboratively and investing resources widely to make a positive difference in Arizona. The membership of the Arizona Grantmakers Forum is approximately 80 family, corporate, public and community foundations established and operating across the state.
Dr. Perez has been with Delta Dental of Arizona since 2006. In her marketing and communications role, Dr. Perez implements the strategic advertising, public relations, media and communications plans for the state’s largest dental insurer. In her role with the charitable Foundation she oversees the grant making and operations to fulfill the mission of improving the oral health of underserved and uninsured populations across the state.
Dr. Perez brings a unique set of skills to her work as a result of her educational background of earning an undergraduate degree in Social Work from Oral Roberts University, and a Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University. She has lived in Arizona for more than 20 years and is happily married with two children.
