Delta Dental of Arizona is a member of Delta Dental Plans Association, a nationwide network of nonprofit service corporations covering more than 54 million people and boasts a network of 85% of the nation’s dentists.

Nationally, Delta Dental’s history goes back to the mid-1950s, when the International Longshoremen Workers Union on the West Coast negotiated dental benefits for their subscribers’ children in Washington, Oregon, California and Hawaii. Today, the Delta Dental system provides dental benefits in every state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Delta Dental of Arizona was founded in 1972 as a nonprofit organization. Delta Dental of Arizona now covers more than 700,000 people through more than 1,200 employer groups. Delta Dental of Arizona enjoys the support and commitment of the dental profession with over 3,000 individual Participating Dentists throughout the state.
