Delta Dental of Arizona is a member of Delta Dental Plans Association, a nationwide network of nonprofit service corporations covering more than 35 million people and boasts a network of 75% of the nation’s dentists.

Nationally, Delta Dental’s history goes back to the mid-1950s, when the International Longshoremen Workers Union on the West Coast negotiated dental benefits for their subscribers’ children in Washington, Oregon, California and Hawaii. Today, the Delta Dental system provides dental benefits in every state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Arizona State Dental Association in 1972 founded Delta Dental of Arizona as a nonprofit organization. Delta Dental of Arizona now covers more than 435,000 people through more than 1,800 employer groups. Delta Dental of Arizona enjoys the support and commitment of the dental profession with over 2,700 Participating Dentists throughout the state.
